Sunland Village East
Ideally located in the newer East Mesa area, Sunland Village East has easy freeway access and is just a couple miles from Superstition Springs Mall. The community offers great facilities and amenities with very low HOA fees.
Homeowners with east-facing homes can enjoy some nice views of the Superstition Mountains.
Overview
Sunland Village East is a 55+ active adult golf retirement community with 2,435 homes, located in East Mesa. With a population of over 4,000 residents, it offers retirees a friendly hometown feeling: small enough to meet neighbors and create friendships, but also large enough to offer residents a wide assortment of clubs and activities.
After successfully completing Dreamland Villa and Sunland Village, Farnsworth kept moving east along Baseline Rd, and started development of Sunland Village East in 1984 as their third Mesa active adult community. Despite the vast array of great amenities, Sunland Village East’s HOA fees are among the lowest in the entire Greater Phoenix area, always something to take into account when considering a 55+ retirement community or second home.
Sunland Village East Real Estate
Sunland Village East has regular single-family detached homes, as well as maintenance-free single-level townhomes that are often referred to as “condos” by the community. Both single family homes and townhomes are available on golf course lots, and the townhomes on golf course lots are often referred to as “golf condos” by the community.
Townhomes offer maintenance-free “lock and leave” living. All townhomes are single-level and range from small 1BR / 1BA units of 844 SF up to 2BR / 2BA units of 1,700 SF. Townhomes (or “condos”) have an additional HOA fee that includes all exterior maintenance and insurance on the building and roof.
Single Family Homes are all single-level and sizes range from about 1,023 to 2,500 SF.
About the East Mesa Area
Mesa is the third largest city in the state of Arizona, and covers a large geographic area. The Eastern-most and Northern-most areas of Mesa are the most recently developed, and where you’ll find most of the newer homes.
The Loop 202 freeway through this section of the city makes the area very accessible, so downtown Phoenix and Scottsdale Fashion Square are just 20-30 minutes away.
East Mesa enjoys fabulous mountain views of Red Mountain, Las Sendas Mountain, and the fabled Superstition Mountains. A major mall and shopping center, Superstition Springs, is only a 5-15 minute drive for most East and North Mesa communities.
